How to Bid on eBay

How to Have Fun Buying on eBay

You can often find good deals on high quality horse tack and equipment through eBay.

It's a good idea to do some research before you start bidding, though. One good place to start is in the 'Completed Auctions' section. There you'll discover how many people bid on similar pieces of horse tack, the most popular items and those that are not so popular, and what the general going price is for the item you're looking at.

Here are some tips for when you're just starting out and want to place a bid:

  • Choose your item up for bid
  • Decide on the top price you will pay for it
  • Place your bid on the item, using your top price
  • Watch the action as bidders compete

When you place a high bid, the auction places only the next incremental top bid for you; then, as others bid, it automatically increases your bid.

By initially bidding with the top price you're willing to pay, you'll prevent yourself from getting so excited you overbid and end up paying more than you wanted, and possibly even more than the item is worth.

Good luck and have loads of fun bidding!
